Even More OC Holiday Happenings…

Our County of Orange really pulls out the stops during the holidays.
Along with our famous boat parades and art shows, O.C. offers enough holiday activities to keep your family busy every day until the big event.
Both Golden West College (www.gwctheater.com)and The Irvine Barclay Theatre (www.thebarclay.org) are staging magnificent productions of “The Nutcracker”. The South Coast Repertory is bringing the nineteenth-century to life with their unforgettable production of “A Christmas Carol”(www.scr.org). All three productions run until December 24 and have become “don’t miss” local traditions.
Considering that those of us who live on the west coast rarely get to enjoy a white Christmas; being able to ice skate in 80 degree weather is a truly unique experience. Many beautiful outdoor rinks have appeared the past few years. The most famous is just across the street from us at Downtown Disney through January 6th (www.tinyurl/IceRinkAnaheim) .Not to mention; CHILL at the Queen Mary is an indoor-outdoor winter wonderland the whole family can enjoy. With the world famous Queen Mary as the backdrop, enjoy the crisp Pacific air as you skate on the 6,500 outdoor rink made with real ice. Also outdoors is the two-story high, 100-foot long Ice Tubing slide, made entirely of ice. Tickets are $12.95 for five slides. The Queen Mary Dome has been transformed into the Ice Kingdom, a 13,000 square-foot giant igloo featuring over two million pounds of ice handcrafted by an international team of expert ice sculptors. The larger-than-life creations are enhanced with stunning lights and colors for a dazzling visual experience. Be sure to grab a parka before you enter the Ice Kingdom, which dips to a frosty 9 degrees inside. Brrrr….
